Mendenhall Suspended For One Game

Steelers running back, Rashard Mendenhall has been suspended for conduct that was detrimental to the team. He did not show up to the game last Sunday against the San Diego Chargers after being told that he would not dress. He has been inactive for the last two weeks, after fumbling twice during the game against Cleveland on November, 25th. After this game he also lost his starting job, and was moved to third string. The Steelers have chosen Jonathan Dwyer as their new starter and Isaac Redman as their backup.

This suspension will cost Mendenhall $41,176. Pittsburgh Steelers coach, Mike Tomlin stated last week that Rashard Mendenhall would still get a chance to redeem himself, but with few games left and this suspension, that is a lot less likely to happen. A lot of people are saying that this suspension is indicating that Mendenhall will no longer be with the Steelers next season. He has been the teams feature back for the last three years, but this season he has been having a tough time. Plus after this season, he is a unrestricted free agent.

Rashard Mendenhall will not be playing in this Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys. He is supposed to be back and practicing with the team on Monday, but it seems unlikely that he will get the chance to play another game with the Steelers.
