Steelers vs. Colts… Not Fit For Primetime?

When the 2011-2012 NFL schedule was announced, the September 25th, primtime  matchup (8PM pm on NBC) between the Steelers (1-1) and Colts (0-2) looked to be a huge conference game between two AFC power houses.  However much has changed since the NFL schedule was released in early July.

Steeler Nation can’t be too excited about the start to the NFL season, week 1 the Steelers got absolutely manhandled by their bitter rivals, the Baltimore Ravens.  The Steelers looked old and slow on offense and defense, they didnt show any heart or emotion from the opening kickoff to the final whistle.  Big Ben turned the ball over 5 times himself, (3 ints, 2 fumbles), in a disappointing 35-7 loss in Baltimore.  Before you start to say what about the thumping the Steelers put on the Seahawks in week 2?  I think we all knew that was expected, and lets be honest the Seahawks will be competing for the Andrew Luck’s Sweepstakes by years end.

For the Colts, the value of Peyton Manning has finally been brought to light.  The defending AFC South Champions are winless in their first 2 games and show no signs of promise.  Manning most likely will be lost for the entire season and the Colts season looks like it will be lost as well.
